Turn off the Devon Valley Road and let lush vineyards, fruit farms, and beautiful landscaping set the scene for your arrival. Enjoy breathtaking views of Louisvale Wine Estate—a home of signature Chardonnay and a rich winemaking legacy dating back to 1988.

Built in 2001, the cabin has long been a setting for unforgettable stories and lasting friendships. Local lore tells of a Scotsman who originally built the cabin for his friends, only to fall in love with the space and keep it for himself. Later, under the stewardship of entrepreneur Mr. Altmann Allers, The Log Cabin became a vibrant haven, welcoming national rugby players, local students, musicians, academics—and even, reportedly, an actual wizard.

In August 2017, the cabin was reborn as a guesthouse which featured a two bedroom cottage and four uniquely themed cabins—The Pallet, The Barrel, The Cork, and The Difference—each with an ensuite bathroom, kitchenette, Super King bed, and custom-made furnishings crafted to its theme; collectively we refer to these as the vineyard cabins. In 2022 and 2023 two additional units were added to the selection, Heavens View and Serenity, respectively.

Guests also have access to a spacious main kitchen, a high-ceiling lounge with an indoor fireplace, and an outdoor deck overlooking the Simonsberg and Stellenbosch mountain range. With its large braai area and flexible mobile unit by the pool, The Log Cabin offers a rare blend of luxury, comfort, and genuine charm for those seeking a memorable escape.

Vineyard Cabins

Stellenbosch winelands presents The Barrel Room, consisting of retired french oak wine barrels, offering a Super King Sized bed that can be converted to 2 x 3/4 beds on request, large en-suite bathroom, kitchenette, patio and breathtaking views.
